Our History
Bangladesh School Sohar (BSS) was established in 2008 by a group of devoted Bangladeshi expatriates to provide education opportunities for the children of the Bangladeshi community in the Sohar region. It began as a small institution with a commitment to academic excellence. Over the years, Bangladesh School Sohar has enhanced its academic programs and embraced contemporary technologies, remaining steadfast in its dedication to respect, integrity, and continuous learning
Through the dedication of volunteers, parents, and community leaders, Bangladesh School Sohar quickly became a source of pride & cultural landmark for the Bangladeshi community. Now, the school warmly welcomes students from all backgrounds while continuing to honor and respect the cultural heritage of every community.
Key Milestones:
- 2008 – Founded by members of the Bangladeshi community.
- 2009 – Opened first full academic year with 33 students.
- 2010 – Introduced inclusive programs for wider community participation.
- 2016 – Achieved recognition/accreditation from Edexcel Pearson.
- 2025 – Celebrated 17th anniversary, now serving 400+ students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Bangladesh School Sohar now exemplifies how united communities can create institutions that honor tradition while embracing progress and academic distinction.
